What's cooking at the Gallery - Can you smell whatâs cooking? The Douglas Gallery will be hosting its first-ever cooking class Saturday, August 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Gallery. The workshop will consist of learning to make appetizers and hor dourves from different fruits, cheeses and vegetables.If you think your kitchen is cramped, try cooking on a sailing ship - Imagine cooking for 10 to 60 people three times a day in a kitchen the size of a small closet. Then imagine that sometimes your closet is tilted about 15 degrees and bucking large waves on the Great Lakes or the ocean. That's just a taste of the challenges of cooking on tall ships that still ply the world's waterways.
Cooking doesn't have to be hard: Use simple recipes, improve diet - I spent most of my summer reading cooking blogs that are updated every other day by people who have eons more time than me.
